Keeping them accountable
As Senate Vice Chair of the Energy & Technology Committee at the legislature, Matt's committed to holding Eversource accountable for their storm response to Tropical Storm Isaias in August. He asked Eversource CEO Jim Judge tough questions in a virtual public hearing - and didn't let up until he got an answer.
Eversource had the audacity to ask the legislature for $700 million -- even after our neighbors and friends lost fridges full of food and life-saving medicine during the hot days before the power came back on. In 2017, Matt led the fight against an outrageous subsidy that raised our electric rates this summer. He will continue this fight as our state senator.
